Have you ever found yourself wanting to go somewhere next weekend or next month? Searching for cheap flights? Needing to give yourself a break but the flight tickets to every destination you can think of are with the price of a kidney? Or those moments when you plan your family vacation, and you so want to go to this beautiful place you’ve dreamed about your whole winter and BAM – every date that is ok for you to travel is so pricey it’s not real? Or you have a budget and a desire to go somewhere but have no idea where?
Well, I’m happy to end your struggles with this post.
I already have my ways of finding the cheapest flight tickets but the tool I’m about to show you reduced my research time by more than 50%. And I’m so glad that someone took his time to create such an excellent site for all of us – travellers on a budget.
So after this intro you probably didn’t need because you want the important information right away, let me introduce you the most amazing interactive map – Escape!
This is an interactive map that includes the search of Skyscanner and Kiwi and shows you right away the quickest/cheapest/whatever you need flight from any destination in the world. It is full of tons of filters that help you reduce the results. You can determine your range of dates, how many days you want to spend, the exact location or the whole continent. I tell you this shit is epic and it is for sure the only tool you’ll ever need to find your next travel dates.
So.. how does it work?
You open the link and add your dates and your home point:
And then you enjoy your results with this pleasant to the eye map. I love how interactive and pretty it is if I have to be honest. This is one big bonus for me. :D
The great part is the filters you can enter.
So if you have a particular budget or you need your flight to be direct – you can add this to the left side of the map. There is this epic option to choose your weather preferences – like how cool is that?!
You can add your preferences for the destination as I mentioned above – the exact location, exact airport, or to choose continent, region, country, city…
The calendar is fantastic as well – you can put exact dates, or you can leave them flexible. When you choose flexible, you can add how many nights you prefer to stay. And here again, you have an option to leave the exact number or variable.
I’ve tried adding a couple of months the program to choose from, and it works perfectly fine. Even better than what I’m used to in Skyscanner, for example.
So..
After you click Apply it gives you suggestions and the cheapest destination by continent(you can change that filter as well) from green the cheapest one, which means “I’m ready to be booked” to red the most expensive one which means “stop here before you sell your kidney”.
But when you zoom the map, you can point your mouse on one of the other dots that are marked as a destination. And now you can see the lowest price and the dates for it.
On the example below, I pointed to Vienna, and you can see even the temperature there for God’s sake!
Details
If you want to see the prices in more detail just click on it. You will get this fantastic table of rates where you can visually decide where you want to go and how much you are willing to spend on the tickets.
When you click on any suggestion, the table shows you all the different options for tickets for the dates you chose. It shows you the length of the flight or if there is a transfer included. It shows you how much you will have to wait between the flights (the grey bar in the middle) and the exact hours of your flights.
So when you decide which one is perfect for you-you can click on it and click on the button Book.
A window will pop up to show you all the available options to book this exact flight. And when you select one of them, it redirects you right to the website ready to book the flights.
My currency is in Lev if this is confusing to you. You can choose whatever you need, dollars, euro, etc.
And there you have it – the best tool you’ll ever need in your life to find your cheap flights and the perfect dates for them! Tell me what your opinion of the map in the comments below is. Do you have any other travel tools that help you a lot with organising? Share them with me!
